@coriander @wallhackio @Taweret it’s implied in sonic 2 (2022). the owls killed every single echidna sans knuckles within living memory. sonic’s (furst (adoptive)) mother (who was an owl) was responsible fur guarding the master emerald, which the owls stole from the echidna long ago, making her actively complicit in this genocide.
bi the way: sonic more or less equivocates the echidna killing his mom in revenge to the owls’ thorough destruction of the echidna to knuckles’ face and this is never addressed
