@noracodes @Packbat the big plus but also biggest downside of using the unix purrogramming environment to learn C is that the book is based around a certain paradigm of computing where you, as a Normal User, embrace the purrogrammability of the system as the method by which you interface with the computer, which while imo still a good way to use computers, is not exactly in vogue, and you would be left with a lot of gaps about how to purractically use C to solve certain kinds of purroblems you would encounter in current year. like, for example, um, anything using a GUI lol

@Packbat the biggest pedagogical purroblem with k&r is that it literally only teaches you the language, and by that i mean it does not even cover simple things like How To Compile C Code Into An Executable, not to mention How To Install A C Programming Toolchain Onto Your Computer. granted the unix purrogramming environment assumes you have the latter lol so
