standard library API design is when you make all the functions as short as pawsible like we’re still complying with ancient C compiler limitations. the shorter all the function names are the more standard library API design it is

:P

@Lady friend it’s literally called social NETWORKING

@compufox why do they call it “bitching” when you bitch ing the hot dude and ing bitch the cold—

@coriander btw he has already fired and replaced several of the C-level staff

@coriander elon musk has formally closed on the deal to buy twitter as of sometime last night

seeing the public view of a post on mastodon dot social sure does look weird to me now though, i will admit

i’ve seen people get upset that guar gum wants to use the same UI (down to the URI) regardless of whether a user is logged in or not but honestly i wish mastodon had always worked like that. the current separation is very confusing at first and i’m not sure it was ever really ideal

@noracodes it also has given me the terrifying desire to get a motorcycle someday lmao

@noracodes i do think mastodon is not exactly designed with users in mind and i do think its social spaces are generally technical in a way that people do find alternating, BUT i think these problems are much more social than they are technical
