@jadedofmara sometimes, not usually? on my personal scale of weird joint clicks they’re close to the bottom

now i feel like i should run polls for the other weird muscles only some people have

Show thread

this poll is brought to you by me squeezing my toes together so my big toe and index touched and my wife being like “how the FUCK did you do that”

Show thread

can you move your toes laterally without curling them?

@pho4cexa it seems like the program will be released in august so you could wait until then to make your decision based on whether anything looks interesting?

@pho4cexa mostly people go there to go to panels, socialize with fellow nerds, or check out the dealers floor. There is some proximity to fame stuff (like signings) but i don’t think its the main point for like 90% of the people there

@Forestofglory happy birthday! i hope you are having some delicious treats to celebrate

did your crossdressing girl media include any good movies? otherwise i’d take a short story or fic with interesting worldbuilding

@rigormorphis @villainousfriend these are also my thoughts — I might have to see if my wife wants to start it after we finish our current show

@hoja the fact that they have seteth specifically say that always cracks me up

mom related whining

@celli @pastelsinmysky yeah it sucks you have to deal with that :/

:blobmeow_heart: :blobmeow_heart: :blobmeow_heart: :blobmeow_heart: :blobmeow_heart:

@gaditb @kepstin @u2764 yeah i mean, i think the whole CJK unification deal was a weird and highly context specific choice that very likely would not have been made in an AU where, say, japan was the premier voice in alt unicode but they still would have run into mojibake or similar rendering issues, along with the need for consistent encoding of a string of characters across document types to facilitate fulltext search

@gaditb some sort of character set unification / standardization was inevitable (or more accurately, was inevitable if computers and the internet working more or less as they do is taken as a given) but that its implementation would look even remotely like unicodes was very much not

@imp agreed that we need a way higher bar for shitting on than this but also like, being a historian who does translations and being a fiction author is completely different. i’m not saying that one of those groups has more authority to complain about bad adaptions than the other (personally i think its fine when authors decide adaptations of their works are kinda shit actually) but like, really weird to claim to be an authority on how a completely different field should handle this
