@curewho it’s a quirk of how federation works mostly — unless you’re looking at the post from the instance it originated on, your instance can only tell you about the faves/boosts it knows about so its not unusual for those numbers to be inaccurate. & since when you leave a fave it only notifies the original poster(‘s instance) while a boost notifies all your followers(‘s instances) faves tend to be *dramatic* undercounts in the way boost numbers are not

but also i have mutuals who fave tons of posts and also mutuals who i know read my shit bc they boost/reply but have never once favorited anything so there’s definitely a range of behavior there

re: complaining

@wallhackio fortunately you are now an eight hour drive away from her bad decisions

complaining

@wallhackio your mom sounds like a very normal and reasonable person

@curewho hey welcome! most of us fannish folk hang out on the fan-run instances like blorbo.social , fandom.ink & federatedfandom.net so if you see anyone from those URL’s you know they’re fannish :)

@carm_kuryakin what a near plant! i’ve never seen it before, but Wikipedia seems to think it only grows in South America so that’s not too surprising

@wallhackio socializing with friends is known to be good for ones mental health, yes

Birthing kink, it's just a tagging quandary

@xieliansbignaturals sometimes knowing its meant to be erotic going in is all it takes to make it read that way! but yeah i feel that—tagging is hard

Birthing kink, it's just a tagging quandary

@xieliansbignaturals i would lean towards anything thats meant to be erotic going in / even if it’s not sex per se

@imp if you cant put it in your fanfic, then clearly you’ve just gotta share it here

@morgana_catbus @moonsea since Ao3 already servers RSS feeds, probably the easiest thing would be to ingest metadata into search via RSS (and then it opens on the original site when you click on it). And it would make search even more server intensive than it already is which is not ideal

i think ourchive ( getourchive.io ) has federation on their roadmap but i havent checked in recently to see how thats going

@moonsea u are so much more powerful now then u were then, surely peertubes idiosyncrasies cannot defeat u

@aschmitz @wallhackio u can just say you’re making sautéed garlic u dont need to pretend theres spinach involved

@Cyannin aww they look so cozy! and what a cute color combo :blobmeow_heart:
