@rowyn oof thats rough but i am glad you both made it home!

food related, vegetarian related

@pixouls may be too much when you’re also making a new recipe for the first time, but seitan is pretty straightforward to make from scratch!

@wallhackio didnt sped up versions precede nightcore by some time

@rigormorphis i’m still stuck on the implication that the holy trinity is yr top three tbh, but also if i was asked my top three fruits i wld probably just say the three i’ve had most recently 😂

@wallhackio @amy yes hence the “because theres no true agreement on which orientation is correct” bit, if he feels that inverted controls are more natural thats none of my business

@wallhackio @amy most modern controllers already allow joystick x and y axis inversion, in part because for many games there isn’t agreement on which correspondence is “correct”

@wallhackio @amy if it’s easier for u to play whilst holding the controller a certain way of course u should hold it that way the goal is to win not to look correct to random irrelevant onlookers

@wallhackio @amy kitty uses a giant rectangle instead of a traditional controller i dont see how this is any weirder

@MountainTownToys @djsundog @ajroach42 have fun! if you’ve got a bit of free time and want a fun toy-adjacent snack, Shanes Confectionary down in Old City makes clear toy candy out of barley sugar — most of their molds are hundred year old antiques, super cool

@Betty @villainousfriend @soph_sol wikipedia seems to think the term moor does not necessarily preclude being a wetland, particularly historically, so perhaps the moors moorhens were found on were the boggier ones?

@wallhackio @vaporeon_ as someone who’s sleep schedule was incredibly fucked for over a decade these *are* learnable skills i promise

and also like, phones these days usually let you just set night shift to go on automatically at a certain time, i also have do not disturb scheduled to turn on about a half hour before i start getting ready for bed, i take my meds at night and i set an alarm for that, etc so i dont have to intrinsically remember to do all the things myself

@wallhackio @vaporeon_ 1) pick a consistent bed time and try to be ready and in bed with the lights off* by then every night even if i’m not sleepy yet

2) avoid bright light (esp blue light, if your phone has a nightshift mode use that) and stimulating activities in the hours leading up to that time

3) start setting a “you have to get up at this time at the latest alarm” at progressively earlier times until i’m not spending a reasonable number of hours in bed

@vaporeon_ @wallhackio i feel like this trick stopped working for me in my early twenties
