@Lady the result was it was specific enough that it seemed like the kind of thing one corner of the internet gets into *really intense* fights over but no one else even knows about

@Lady before this thread i did not even know international ski accident day existed, let alone that it was controversial

@twistylittlepassages they’re some lux firepit brand — they put off a ton of heat & light and the flames are gorgeous

They’re popular around here because they’re portable I think, which is good for cities

@twistylittlepassages yeah it’s really nice! It my neighbors fire pit — I don’t know if the solostove craze has hit your area yet

There is some amazing fluid dynamics stuff going on

@eldang yeah it’s unfortunate bc the tiny bit I saw before it blocked me did look like a neat project!

@Cyborgneticz cotton & linen are for summers! They’re comfy & breathable but they don’t insulate well

@Cyborgneticz wool can be pricey but it’s sooooo good. I have a bunch of super nice wool scarves & I just wear one p much every day

@Cyborgneticz yep my mom is a poncho devotee! Also good to upgrade your sweaters from cotton to wool/alpaca — both fibers are a lot warmer than cotton so a good sweater can really help

@Lady 1) amazing
2) this is definitely not what mormon friend believed — we had an extensive conversation and they were very clear that they were absolutely sure Mary, specifically, had fucked God (it came up because she’d made a joke about Mary being a monsterfucker and we were all like ??!?)

@Cyborgneticz yeah the house I grew up in is a rough house but it’s just got like, traditional turn of the century victorian levels of no insulation. The one person I know with a 1900’s era freestanding house just spends the whole winter buried in blankets pretty much

@Cyborgneticz lol around here everyone says row houses are warmer because you don’t loose any heat through the walls you share with your neighbors 😆

But yeah they aren’t always built for good air circulation so some rooms will definitely end up much warmer/colder than others which can be unpleasant

@hafnia@weirder.earth @Cyborgneticz @Dayglochainsaw i generally have to run a humidifier in winter because the air gets so dry. I know Baltimore tends to be a bit warmer & wetter than here but I’d be surprised if it was enough to require dehumidifying!

Definitely seconding the duvet suggestion — they’re so much warmer & cozier than a stack of blankets

@eldang i get a ‘log in to continue’ unfortunately

@Lady ah no i know that, I meant the virginity in the context of banging
