re: historical catholic politics

@Lady something along the lines of ‘[political setup] resulted in the papacy being moved to Avignon in 1309. The resulting period was called the Babylonian Captivity and was widely criticized for….’

re: historical catholic politics

@Lady it’s a short passage, so it only gets proper nouned once. But basically yeah

re: historical catholic politics

@Lady except its not the default term as far as i can tell — every other class i’ve taken uses Avignon Papacy in all the modern materials

re: historical catholic politics

@Lady I’m well aware of the history of the term which, which is why I think it’s an oddly political choice to use as the default term in a modern textbook

food non-veg, vegetarianism

@ljwrites it’s definitely not common — like i said it only happened to me once in a long time eating fertilized eggs

….but yeah it was pretty uh, memorable

re: historical catholic politics

@Lady i mean yeah but like, it’s still weird to it the Babylonian Captivity without any qualification in a supposedly neutral source

historical catholic politics

This textbook is taking a weirdly strong stance against the Avignon papacy

food non-veg, vegetarianism

@ljwrites look cracking a chicken egg and getting a handful of coagulated blood only needs to happen once to turn you off the whole concept

@hafnia@weirder.earth my kitties have definitely picked up habits from eachother — it’s always hilarious when you catch them doing something that is very distinctively from the other cat

@alpine_thistle this is stressing me out just thinking about it tbh

@hafnia@weirder.earth i mean its a great movie so, probably good things?

@hafnia@weirder.earth an excellent hatch weekend choice!

autism, parenting meta, ableism

@ljwrites also you know, its always a bit alarming when parents don’t seem to have an identity outside of being a parent

@Lady @witchfynder_finder @HoneyMoon@monads.online yeah see thats something i’d have to check to figure out

@witchfynder_finder @HoneyMoon@monads.online i might have to count the smallest notches to check what their division is (is 16ths standard?) but I could easily measure just like, 18 inches, or 3 3/8ths yeah

@Lady ah i mean, i cant read qr codes so i dont really care

food, alc

@hafnia@weirder.earth @pagrus clever!

food, alc

@hafnia@weirder.earth @pagrus what do you do with the spare yolk?
