@netkitty hi kitn!
@Lady and sonetimes ‘itsa me mario’
@pagrus any size thats not ‘so tiny i go how is that real??? every time you post a photo’
@pagrus are they like that forever or do they get big eventually?????
@Sibylle since you said you spun i thought you might be familiar! If you haven’t been completely deluged with follow recommendations yet, it might be a good tag to look through for people to follow even if you don’t plan to participate
There’s also a fair number of gardeners and other plant people on fedi! If you havent yet been pointed towards the trunk ( https://communitywiki.org/trunk ) i believe they have a couple different follow recommendation lists you might enjoy ( i know they have one for permaculture, pretty sure there are a few others too)
@raindrops i hope you enjoy ‘em!
@AspiringLuddite you can do it on gas! I never even bothered measuring before I had to use induction!
@raindrops i’m not a huge fan of turn based strategy games, but if you are Fire Emblem 3 Houses was pretty decent
For shorter stuff, A Short Hike and Carto are both cute & fun, really enjoyed both
@raindrops i’ve played sakuna twice & really enjoyed it both times — its half sidescroller fighting game, half rice farming simulator (the rice farming simulator is apparently highly regarded by actual rice farmers for its complexity and accuracy)
Only two different difficulty modes, but you can toggle fighting difficulty and farming difficulty separately & the easy option is genuinely pretty forgiving
@Sibylle a fair number of people here do fibrecrafts! It’s not active right now because we’re out of season but i always see a ton of great posts in #TourDeFleece each year
@AspiringLuddite yeah experimentation revealed that there was no temperature at which we could consistently make a full cup of popcorn w/out any of it burning. You could tweak things so that it *mostly* didn’t burn, or you could make a smaller batch
@AspiringLuddite yeah my last place had an induction hob
Great for almost everything, but popcorn went up two difficulty levels
@Lady @witchfynder_finder one game does not a genre make
@Lady @witchfynder_finder i was unaware that play was a genre of videogame
@Lady i was more concerned about the puppydog tails tbh
@ljwrites hmmmm
and if you want to get really deep, there's the fact that the un-inflected form 'adon' derives from the word 'ad', meaning 'father'
and 'ad' just happens to coincidentally mean 'child' in mando'a. Which, usually i'm not going to complain about the etymology of a word conflicting with a completely different language but considering it's already established as a pun, and mando'a is highly agglutinative makes me extremely tempted to interpret it as meaning 'child-____'
okay now that i've explained one way that this is weird i feel like i have to explain the rest in the interests of fairness
there's the fact that it's a pun which, i'm not saying isn't a thing in star wars but is a bit weird
there's the fact that its kinda vaguely blasphemous
there's the fact that duke kryze and his daughter, duchess kryze are the *only* people who use the title of duke/duchess on mandalore, and its really weird that they do because they're an unwieldy fit for Mandalore's clan system
Anyway when even babyname sites are calling it a 'culturally loaded choice' maybe your pun isn't worth it?
