@SportsGoblin @Lady @wallhackio how do you feel about cross country croquet
@Lady @wallhackio @SportsGoblin scoring points is bad tho you’re not supposed to do that
@Lady @wallhackio @SportsGoblin wallhackio will only watch cricket where the scoring points and the running to opposite sides have been separated out into different phases of play
@wallhackio @Lady @SportsGoblin technically baseball doesnt work this way but the guy running around in a circle isnt really more important
@titania yeah then i am offering a solid wtf
@titania if this is who i’m assuming then yeah definitely very weird
@heatherrosejones congrats!
@bright_helpings @cxli there’s a bit in the post where they’re clearly quoting whoever banned them from the toilets that also uses the term, so i’m guessing they just (perhaps subconsciously) imitated the phrasing from there and didn’t think about what that might signal to the posts audience
@ljwrites i happen to be from the bit of the world where hiking trails are still blazed & the marking referred to as blazes which makes the etymology a bit more intuitive to figure out. But from what I’ve gathered your assumption is the more common reading.
Interestingly though, Blazes on trees are etymologically cousins with blazing fires! The meaning of “light colored marking” was a borrowing from dutch or german, and it comes from the same proto-germanic root meaning “torch” (one can see how one half of the tree would focus on how torches light the way and the other half on the fact that its *fire* providing the light).
@Cyannin makes sense! i have put tajin on popcorn a few times which uses powdered lime juice i think — it’s not quite as satisfying as tajin on corn or watermelon but
@Cyannin ooh dill popcorn, delish
lemon powder as in zest or powdered juice?
@darkmirror i have dine both of those! maybe i need to run a which fats are best on popcorn poll next
@aschmitz they do sink a bit so don’t go endlessly stirring your popcorn after its been added but not so much that throwing a handful on top of a bowl while serving causes issues
there’s no option for mixing peanuts in bc thats not a spice but it is a delicious way to use up any canisters of slightly too spicy to eat straight jalepeño peanuts one might have received as a gift (or, purchased for this exact purpose)
@kate interesting! i have done parm on popcorn of course but i guess i always assumed cheddar would be too wet? i will have to give it a try sometime
@soph_sol kettle corn is delicious and i always forget its a thing one can actually make instead of purchasing in unwise quantities from the kettle man at the local fair
@kate does the cheese melt?
@soph_sol alas this poll cannot not allow just salt because then it would win and that would be boring
@geraineon haha a reasonable interpretation! its a response to a poll by @Lady from a few days ago asking about the best seasonings for fries but i found her options insufficient
