@Satsuma @aescling (1) a claim about the actual diversity of the drag scene does not invalidate a claim about common perceptions and labels in the vernacular re: (femme-presenting) drag queens and trans women and the general, broadly recognized distinctions between them; (2) “butch trans women” clearly betokens the fact that you are using butch in a different way than i am, since my whole argument is that Peach’s butchness is a product of her lack of womanhood. the existence of butches who are also women is irrelevant to this point. a proper counterargument would instead focus on the existence of fem queens who are also trans women, problematizing the distinction between the two, but again see (1)
