The paper (PDF): https://cla-acl.ca/pdfs/actes-2018/Dow-2018.pdf

also pokémon 🤝 star wars
a fairly narrow (but still self‐contradictory) band of core canon which everyone tries to stick to, and an expansive universe of stuff which just kind of riffs on the themes
there is one (1) pushmo fanfiction https://archiveofourown.org/tags/%E5%BC%95%E3%82%AF%E6%8A%BC%E3%82%B9%20%7C%20Hikuosu%20%7C%20Pushmo%20(Video%20Games)/works
dude your shiny arceus is cool but this is clearly a hacked pokémon i can't trade it forward to newer games
the open-world system works in scarlet/violet, which is exploration-based and a traditional pokémon RPG, but it would have been godawful in legends arceus which is challenge-oriented
nobody wants a fully open-world challenge-oriented game, they want mushroom zone and ice palace and candy kingdom
« Nine months after Link had defeated Calamity Ganon, he and Zelda start working towards rebuilding Hyrule. This results in the two creating a Hylian party to journey across Hyrule to meet and work with the leaders of each region, so they can restore the land to its former glory. » ok but like are you going to address the fact that the Calamity targeted the Hylians Specifically and every other nation is actually doing Just Fine
