⁜why⁜ the internet browsers decided that the default link target should be the <IFRAME> that the page is sitting in is beyond me

Show thread

the biggest, and frankly only, problem with a sensible <IFRAME> design is handling link targets (a.k.a adding <base target="_top"> to the start of every page)

honestly the only reason i have kept it alive as long as i have is i ⁜really⁜ like the web design; it’s preserved in ‹ u2764.com/OFIC/2017-02-12/Lite › though so it will live on in the archives.

i now have my original fiction hosted at ‹ u2764.com/OFIC/ ›. the first two entries there are really the only things worth keeping alive from my (very) old website at marrus.xyz, so i might not renew that domain and formally shut it down when its year is up.

(there are some very old mastodon metaposts there, but they’re extremely antiquated and for historical purposes they’re still accessible through the wayback machine)

this writing reads like the writing of people who annoy me

maybe a 6 out of 10, the second sunset is kind of pretty

Show thread

some people could go their whole lives without seeing a sunset as pretty as the one i’m looking at now and it’s honestly a 5 out of 10

Show thread

growing up in the inland northwest you just get so desensitized to sunsets

we can indeed reduce the “trauma” of the event by expecting it, but at the cost of a more just world

Show thread

kiddo the reason why trauma has been such a buzzword lately is because we are trying to point out that these stresses should NOT be considered normal

it is in fact possible to imagine a world without them
