might fix hashtag and mention processing in the advanced text renderer while i'm at it too
it will still be terrible for screenreaders on instances which aren’t ours lol but maybe we can get it into GlitchSoc
my dayjob is working with Rails apps so i don’t love doing it in my spare time but this is mostly a frontend thing

it was neat to be able to switch between hidden and unhidden text flexibly in the same sentence and i think it was better at actually giving people context for what they're reading
honestly i'd be all for going back to the ROT13 days if it wasn't murder on screenreaders

@aescling @coriander before mastodon had CWs, ROT13 was how people hid sensitive content, especially lewds
so the implication of having a ROT13 username would be that somebody was typing a toot to your normal username but ROT13'd it because it was a lewd post
the keyboard stuff was just because coriander was looking at keyboard maintenance things earlier today and "switch" is a funny polysemous word
