@coriander @aescling it's from 2008; in 2008 i'm pretty sure i read an okay review of a video game on IGN once, i could be wrong though

@aescling TIL sonic fans include bad video game reviews as part of their fandom

ah yes, i find myself a lass in need of refreshment; time to go drink some ¿¿¿straight vodka??!

i always get one of two songs stuck in my head:

- the menu music for madden 2001 on the nintendo 64

- behind these hazel eyes

@coriander @monorail i like the link whose up attack does the three slices not the link whose up attack does only one slice

« In the fall of 1979, a woman entered Classics Bookstore intending to purchase The Joy of Cooking and mistakenly picked up The Joy of Gay Sex. »

if a new game came out today which tried to portray the 90s or 00s it would do it as a bit or aesthetic (see: Murder by Numbers [still a good game]) but pokémon remakes are remakes of how the 90s and 00s portrayed themselves

Show thread

despite the joking tone i do think continuing to re·encode images of the past is a meaningful and worthwhile pursuit, and there isn’t a whole lot of it in New Media outside of pokémon video game remakes

Show thread

Show thread

if they don't do another remake of gen ii then how will kids learn what the radio is

Show thread

do the periods line up with the in-universe chronology? absolutely not

Show thread

i'm okay with pokémon game remakes primarily because each one is a period piece

nintendo doesn't want me to name my slakoth “tired dyke” but i do what i want

i should probably be a good little dyke and come out 😩
