@aescling i want an MR to actually display the post language in the UI but i don’t want to actually develop for the glitch frontend lol
pokémon is interesting and cool and some of my favourite fanfics are pokémon fanfics but it is so incredibly rare to see someone actually engage with the material on that sort of level it's really disappointing
pokémon fanfic is all either
- literally just the game only the protagonist is explicitly a neurodivergent gay disaster instead of implicitly that; idk i got tired of writing it after 3 chapters
- what if the bad evil villain but sexy, here are 20 oneshots
- what if this pokémon was as uncontrollably horny as i am thinking about it, what will happen next
- what if these canon characters were into each other but didn't know how to not be weird about it
at that point in legends arceus where i am very disappointed that there aren't any critical fans of legends arceus

@aescling i mean i think it was widely understood that it was a very broad alliance but there was a time when that alliance was considered useful
i don't think it really is anymore

yes, it is worth noting that a culture designed to exploit certain mental health issues for the sake of advancing a radical white-supremacist agenda does indeed have access to people with those mental health issues. you got it buddy

@witchfynder_finder i mean i think the actual pokémon lore stance is that every game is an AU of every other game and they have actively exploited this in the past with like, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire very explicitly taking place in an alternate universe from the original Ruby and Sapphire
so like the handwave is "i suppose in this universe, instead of living in Sinnoh, Dialga is chilling in a cave in Galar" :P
but i also don't think the lore is supposed to be consistent. if there's one common thread between all the pokémon games it's that humans want to understand pokémon and also extremely do not. they're supposed to be mysteries
