@codl the Unicode Collation Algorithm (section 1.1, Multi-Level Comparison) might be a better starting point lol https://www.unicode.org/reports/tr10/#Multi_Level_Comparison
@monorail i use both styles but i pretty much only use the capitalized and perioded one for things with like, paragraphs
with lowercase style i generally make every sentence its own paragraph; if i'm going to stick three or more sentences in the same paragraph my brain starts inserting capitals
@codl that’s not the current character folding practices (that technical report was withdrawn and never made it out of the “draft stage”)
for identifiers and such, case folding is a core part of the standard defined in CaseFolding.txt and section 5.18 here: https://www.unicode.org/versions/latest/ch05.pdf
for other string comparison operations, including removal of accents, that’s defined as a part of CLDR (which, if you thought the ordinary unicode website was hard to navigate… the CLDR website is even worse lmao)
@Satsuma yeah that’s what i did on my website in 2018, although i also had Atom (and JSON!!) feeds that i kept updated so people could subscribe to it, but there wasn’t any like, way to view it as a blog in the browser
the setup i have now just renders the index of files on the left side of the screen and then has an <IFRAME> on the right side which loads the post, which is like, perfectly sufficient for blog purposes, even though i don’t think i’ve ever seen anyone take that approach in the past decade or so at least
@Satsuma ordinarily with blogs you have some kind of site generator or server software but this is just a bunch of html files for posts, an xml (atom) file as an index, and then a stylesheet which makes it browsable
@Satsuma the aforementioned XSLT plus handwritten Atom feeds

• @Satsuma created caramels! You can see pictures here: ‹ https://glitch.cat.family/@Satsuma/106994905207340823 ›.
• In the process of re·organizing/consolidating my internet presence, I wrote an XSLT ‹ https://github.com/marrus-sh/u2764/blob/master/Atom.xslt › which can be used to generate index pages like ‹ https://www.u2764.com/XRPT/ › and ‹ https://www.u2764.com/OFIC/ › from linked Atom feeds/archives! See the source code for those pages, or @ me for an explanation of how it works.
thankfully, i also know enough to quote the relevant passages verbatim when i cite a link
like 5 people read the stuff i write and i still know enough to not delete things off the internet without cause and to spoof a redirect when i move a post
@witchfynder_finder that'll do it!
@monorail oh yeah i always forget where the event listener goes with load events
document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", ...) might be better if you don't need to wait for assets but it's nbd
