@aescling no, glitchsoc adds icons to indicate whether a toot with a CW has attached media, since it places the media inside the CW

@aescling same but the way to address that is to progressively swap out the bad stuff with good stuff not to try a complete rewrite from square one
@aescling there are two kinds of indie activitypub servers: ones with worse features than mastodon, and ones which won't ever be finished
@aescling once you actually get your hands dirty with mastodev you realize how many pieces are there and how much work it takes to get a similar product which isn't even as good and i think you cool on the idea of wanting to rewrite mastodon from scratch
@Satsuma on the other hand federated timeline isn't a complete mess?
@aescling eh, the backend i would rather progressively improve than rewrite from scratch at this point
@aescling honestly i want to rewrite the mastodon frontend from the ground up without React or Redux but that's an *extremely* distant goal
