XMLSerializer does not preserve internal DTD declarations when serializing to a string. (It also doesn’t preserve entities present in the original string, although I wasn’t optimistic about that.)

Safari’s console will let you assign invalid characters to an XML document and serialize it to string, even though the resulting serialization cannot be parsed back into XML.

This survey asks a lot of questions about sexuality using an identity framework and relatively fewer questions about sexuality from a framework of activity or practice, which privileges the former over the latter in defining sexual orientation. There are no questions, for example, to capture how many asexuals have had sex, or wish to have sex, with a person of the same or differing gender. It is wrong to assume that people who wish to have sex with X type of person will identify with Y type of sexual orientation, and a separate level of questioning is required to capture these experiences. Notably, many people, including asexuals, face harassment or discrimination not for how they identify, but for the practices they do, or do not, participate in. // The definition of “sex” used by this survey is not well‐accommodated to sexting, which seems like an especial problem in the time of COVID‐19. // This survey asks questions about “self‐harm”, but it never defines “harm”, making these questions difficult to answer. // This survey expects people to know and be able to quantify how “out” they are with various groups of individuals, which I think is an unreasonable expectation. There should be more allowance for uncertainty here. // I think it would be beneficial for the survey to ask a question regarding how involved one is with “the asexual community” prior to asking questions about where those interactions take place.

It honestly makes me sad to see the official SU page posting this. An abuse victim escaping from an extremely abusive situation in literally the only way available to them is not a red flag. Some of the decisions she made in and after the process of escaping, sure. But not the faked shattering itself. I challenge anyone to be in an abusive situation like that for their whole life, finally find a way to escape, and choose not to leap at that opportunity. Honestly, the way the Rose/Pink story ended did a huge disservice to abuse victims and as someone who had a childhood that was a lot like both Pink's AND Steven's, it still hurts.
Everyone in SU was a walking , talking Red Flag, even Steven himself. I will say, Rose/Pink gets so much hate while everyone forgave the other diamonds and it's kinda stupid. The other three diamonds literally had gems as oppressed slaves, all abused the heck out of Pink emotionally and physically and were genocidal maniacs. But instead we make Pink, who was born into a crappy position that she truly couldn't help since the other diamonds were bigger than her (and again abusing her!) into the overall villain. I love SU but The story behind Pink as well as the ending after all that build up was very anti climactic. I feel like this show never wrote a good enough villain that could stay a villain (should've been White Diamond) so instead we just place all the villainy on the one person who can no longer defend herself and that's lazy writing to me.

Some sample Ruby/Rails code for determining the current locale; it just pulls it from the top‐level domain name of the URL. This is horribly incorrect; two‐letter TLDs are country codes, not language identifiers—example.ca, for example, is SUPPOSED to mean “canada” but would be interpreted by this code as signifying “catalan”.
