The Official Clodboy Rocky Movie Rankings:

Creed
Rocky 2
Rocky VI
Rocky 1
Creed 2
Rocky V
Rocky 3
Rocky 4

I have not seen Creed 3.

@The_T they're fine movies. the first is very plodding and character driven, the second movie is more exciting and "sports movie" than the first, three and four kinda suck and lose the heart of the first two but are incredibly schlocky and dumb in a way that wins some people over, rocky v is a dark apology for 3 & 4 that I appreciated but no one else does, and six is very melancholy exploration of aging and death and also a decent sports movie

Creed is just a fucking banger of a film and I give it my highest recommendation. I haven't seen Creed 3. Creed 2 was very forgettable but not bad either

the first date between rocky and adrian is quite rapey in the first movie though, and their relationship is the heart of the whole eat so it does eat away at the whole experience

my toxic trait is that i am a Rocky V defender

just like how Creed is the best Ricky movie (no I am not fixing that typo)

Show thread

I'm looking forward to watching five versions of blade runner and a gazillion behind-the-scenes featurettes only to then watch 2049 and find it to be the best one

@The_T wikipedia said there is seven before mentioning an eighth version

Looking into it, it seems the answer to "how many editions of blade runner exist" is "7, but it's complicated"

@coriander @aescling turns out the library has that one bluray collectors edition with the five most popular cuts of the movie so fuck it I'll just watch them all

@lapis looooooooooool

re: Food / Cooking Question (Would prefer NOT to bake via oven as It's fucking hot this coming week)

@lapis gravy is optional imo

But my mom always had some gravy powder in the cabinet. You just add some to water in a heated saucepan and whisk together and boom instant gravy

re: Food / Cooking Question (Would prefer NOT to bake via oven as It's fucking hot this coming week)

@lapis I mean, this would work too lol

Skinning the potatoes is optional, some people like the texture when you do that, I don't care myself so it's easier to just not add an extra step

re: Food / Cooking Question (Would prefer NOT to bake via oven as It's fucking hot this coming week)

@lapis you'd be shocked at how much butter you can use in mashed potatoes, potatoes can soak up hella fat and still taste amazing

re: Food / Cooking Question (Would prefer NOT to bake via oven as It's fucking hot this coming week)

@lapis mashed potatoes is fairly easy and tasty

Boil potatoes cut into chunks of relatively equal size until you can stick a fork/chopstick through without any resistance but before they break down

Then pull them out and put in them in a large bowl with butter, salt, pepper, a little garlic powder if you like that, and a little cream/sour cream and then mix it all together with a fork until it has the texture of mashed potatoes

Then taste for seasoning and add more salt pepper garlic cream until its Tasty

Start with little seasoning and cream before taste test because you can always add more, you can't take away

The butter can be microwaved in 20 second increments until its soft which will make it easier to stir into (although the hot potatoes will melt them if you just throw butter in there)

You can also shred cheese and use that in addition to cream if you like. But butter and salt and the only "necessary" things everything else is optional

@lapis what are you knife skills? can you use a knife to cut a potato into chunks?
