@vaporeon_ if you take the determinant of a checkerboard matrix, where the matrix is n x n and n is an odd number, the determinant is always zero!

@vaporeon_ consider matrices that I call "checkerboard matrices". That is, if an element is in the rth row, cth column, and r + c is an even number, then the element is zero

The nonzero elements can be any number you want

Here are two examples:

@vaporeon_ oh let me teach you an obscure determinant fact I discovered a couple years ago

@vaporeon_ it also had graphs that were fun to look at and JavaScript code I wrote to generate the data for the graphs

re: German

@vaporeon_ nice to see germany got at least one thing right

@sidd_harth0_5h4h she's a lady who raps, everything I've heard from her is real good

I can't believe I only just learned that doechii and lady gaga collaborated

@sidd_harth0_5h4h this is titled "The compromise" (read it's hot today but I also don't want to be in darkness nor does Mr Mittens)

@alas wow that brings me back to high school. time to listen to that one again

As someone who has played around with math and found things independently it really does feel like discovery
