hm, maybe should have added the Lego Movie

@wallhackio In college I wrote a paper putting Snowpiercer and The Lego Movie in contrast as two vehicles for popular revolution

@wallhackio The gist was that both films look at corruption in existing power structures and determine that something must be done to change things. The Lego Movie argues for an incremental, reformist process, taking the same building blocks (or bricks, in this case), dismantling what exists, and building something new with the same materials. Snowpiercer, on the other hand, looks at the systems in place and argues that the only way forward is to blow the train completely off the tracks.

@wallhackio Honestly part of why I kinda want to go back to college for some postgrad work is so I can work on being smart again, I don't know if I could write that paper right now lmao

@coriander @wallhackio i thought Snowpiercer was mostly like “what if we made a movie with the storytelling of a video game”

@wallhackio thinking The Incredibles is the only good Pixar movie is a take

@Lady I like almost every pixar film but i only love the incredibles

@wallhackio Up has high highs and low lows; i think it has the best character growth and emotional arcs but they couldn¦t quite commit to treating it seriously

WALL•E is their film with the greatest level of artistry but was held back by their inability to form a meaningful social critique

Ratatouille is underrated; its only major flaw is not being gayer

there are not any other Pixar films of note

@Lady im not sure why i don't love ratatouille. its an incredibly well made film. i absolutely love anton ego's monologue at the end. i love food and the movie does too.

i guess the movie just lacks the inscrutable jenny say qua that satisfies a clod

@wallhackio when the biker girl kissed the loser boy i realized that pixar has no idea what their purpose on this earth is

@Lady @wallhackio sherclod “my favorite justice song was always DVNO” holmes
