i have passed qualifying exam for a physics phd and that was still easier than beating the new york times mini crossword faster than my younger sister

To clarify, the qualifying exam took place over two days. It required taking four tests, one on mechanics, one on electricity and magnetism, one on quantum mechanics, and one on thermodynamics. Each test had only three questions and you were given an hour and a half for each test. This was typically not enough time to solve all three problems.

The day we were given the thermodynamics exam, we were incorrectly told we were going to the a quantum exam the day before, so we all had studied for the wrong test.

All of this was still easier than beating the nyt mini crossword faster than my younger sister

@wallhackio well sure because all your classmates were as disadvantaged as you were

@Satsuma are you insulting my ability at the nyt mini crossword

@wallhackio im saying your sister has clearly done the homework

@Satsuma oh ok. to be fair, it would be valid to insult my ability and the nyt mini crossword. at least when i first started

@Satsuma @wallhackio do they grade quals on a curve? i would have assumed not
