“the sacred grounds is really not all that hard” —me unironically

Show thread

attempting cave story’s best ending has me realizing that i have a less extreme version of caleb’s fucked up notion of what is “hard”

Hello my friends! My girlfriend is in extremely dire straits. Month after month of getting beat down by job prospects, sickness, mental health, and just plain bad luck have her deeply in the red. If she can get through to November/December time, she should be able to start working back through things but right now getting to that point looks extremely dicey. We're talking "potentially homeless" dicey.

If you can spare anything to help her out, it would be so greatly appreciated.

She's based in Canada, so if you also are, e-transfer is best for her, but she also has a paypal. The email for both is astrid.gwendolyn@gmail.com

Thank you so much 💚

haskell is really fun to write in but the syntax fuckery annoys me so much. by comparison OCaml syntax feels like lisp. i think half the reason i've always like scheme-like lisps is they feel like OCaml (but without the type checker, obviously)

i know if from OCaml (whose pattern matching semantics are more or less what Rust uses, from what i understand) but the concept purredates ML by arguably decades, depending on what exactly you categorize as “pattern matching”
