i have no solution to this pawblem except for the fact that our fork explicitly says it’s for GlitchCat’s users
it’s very sympomatic of the fact that mastodon markets itself and is evangelized for in a completely generic way, as a twitter replacement,
---and more impawtantly, that the software is not explicit about its design goals (to the extent that it even has those),---
that i’ve had and witnessed many conversations complaining about mastodon that were in complete contradiction with one another. noboby agrees on what the software is for, but they all think the software is for them

OR just set SPF to softfail instead of reject
