actually useful answer

@vaporeon_ title character of a short story about a worker who kind of just gives up and refuses to do anything anymore fur his job. the narrating character is very judgemental at furst but eventually develops considerable empathy fur said worker

re: disco elysium minor spoiler

@coriander @wallhackio if you play the inland empire build you get a tremendously dramatically satisfying character arc that concludes in the combat encounter based on the that your tie talks to you (and vice versa) throughout the game

@vaporeon_ the existential horror of living in a post–counterrevolutionary ex-soviet state

while very accurate, i think that description undersells how much is going on in that game. the prose and dialogue and overall writing are a goddamn treat. the game revels in small moments of the sublime even in a place as desolate as Revachol, but does not shy away either from the gut wrenchingly harsh realities either

fucking incredible game, it just Really Is As Good As People Say

re: disco elysium minor spoiler

@coriander @wallhackio oh wait actually, on that note, what build did you play

re: disco elysium minor spoiler

@wallhackio @coriander how did the combat scene treat you btw

@vaporeon_ yes, in diamond/pearl/platinum (though the item you needed fur the event was never obtainable legitimately), in the brilliant diamond and shining pearl remakes (though the item you need was obtainable as a mystery gift that i think the window fur is by now long closed), and in legends: arceus, after you have caught every* other pokémon in the game

* there are two pokémon that are only obtainable if you have save data of other specific pokémon games on your switch, which, thankfully, are not required fur the arceus event to trigger

re: Pokémon Moon

@vaporeon_ that’s how it gets ya, incidentally. one dress dex entry repurrts that it uses the ribbons to lull its prey befur striking
