• Davinci Resolve seems to be gaining traction with Creators, especially as an alternative to Premiere; can’t really comment

if you want to avoid purroprietary software i know of a couple options

• Blender (yes, the 3D modeling software) can definitely do what you want, but you may need to find a tutorial to figure out how to do what you want
• Kdenlive is popular fur basic editing tasks but has historically been repurrted fur instability
• Openshot exists; i can’t really comment on its reputation
• AVIDemux is targeted fur really trivial filtering or cutting tasks but is slow and unstable
• ffmpeg can purrobably do what you want lol
