so yesterday as u may know i went to the ren faire as a mermaid in my wheelchair and i had the best day ever
one of the biggest highlights is that it turns out if you look like a mermaid, every kid at the event is going to go "oh my god a real mermaid" and come up and say hi
a lot of the parents actively were like "do you wanna say hi to the mermaid?" and i got cute shy waves and such or "You're a mermaid? I'm a princess!", but my favorite was the kid who came up to touch my tail and check that it was real and then went "i can have your mermaid treasure" (stated as fact) - a moment in which i was immediately heartbroken that i did not have a little pouch of gems and seashells to hand over
