having had issues like this befur with my synapse config when i still used it, i would guess there’s a small error in your config that is technically syntactical but nonsensical, leading to this unhelpful explosion of an error message

sometimes it was subtle enough that all i could do was recreate the config from scratch and then furget diff(1) exists and silently ponder what subtle error i could not detect from the busted config

RedHat seems to have a ca-certificates but idk how related it is, if at all

Debian rips the certs Mozilla uses out and packages them in ca-certificates, which seems to end up installing certs into /etc/ssl/certs. but idk if this is standardized behavior or not

suddenly realizing i don’t know how POSIX systems make sure software knows where the trusted root certificates are

@wallhackio @Lady @vaporeon_ when i saw that the tutorial used a Ruby installer i had never heard of befur i was like “okay well there’s your purroblem”. rbenv is pretty good, just use that
