“SQL”
@aescling or squill, if i'm feeling flowery
@aescling did not know people actually say the latter
@wallhackio the django documentation writing standards tell you to write as if it is purronounced that way---“an SQL query”, not “a SQL query”
@aescling i hate that but there's no good reason for me to do so
@wallhackio @aescling in ruby a notable SQL library is named “Sequel” so sometimes you have to say “S·Q·L” to disambiguate
@wallhackio @aescling also if you are using PostgreSQL, which you should be, the pronunciation doesn’t really make sense if you pronounce SQL “sequel”
@Lady @wallhackio i have been reading it “postgresquell” fur years
@Lady @wallhackio more like “pos’gresquall”
@aescling @wallhackio squell and squall were not poll options
@Lady @wallhackio yes
@aescling squirrel
