• Twitter has started banning journalists as well as anybody who ever links to another website, so lots of people are now saying “maybe this place isn’t great” and uh, leaving lmao. Some of them are coming here. Be nice; enforce boundaries.
• Some publication reporting on this misheard some details (I can only imagine they were communicating over the phone) and interpreted “the Join Mastodon account, run by the person who made Mastodon” as “John Mastodon’s account, the maker of Mastodon” (this post has a screenshot), so anyway that’s a meme. I expect it to be up there with Lance Ulanoff/William Shatner RPF in popularity for the forseeable future.

• We’ve done some re·organizing of our emojice; the blobcat emojos now all start with blobcat_ instead of no underscore; satsuma is now catsuma and filed under “Cats”; the most recent dragn emojim have been added. On Sunday's I always try to spend some extra time studying classical Chinese (and drinking tea) So for today #DecRecs I am going to rec Pleco the Mandarin/English dictionary app!
The basic version of this is free so if you have any interest in learning Mandarin I highly rec it!
I like that it has so many input options, you can write the character, use pinyin, look things up by radicals, and type in English words!

Anyway then there's a long bit where Belet-ili and the gods create mankind (mostly out of clay, as was the norm at the time) and the gods keep treating the humans like shit until Enki feels bad and suggests the they try striking too and we get an escalating series of events that ends in the great Mesopotamian flood (which you might be familiar with as Noah's ark)
The surviving version of this myth is speculated to have been written by Enki stans btw
