@pixouls i always enjoy looking at mushrooms which have the weird flaky textures from their veil remnants. The ones around here are usually pretty low contrast (white on white or white on tan or whatever) but it’s used to much more striking effect on some other species—many of the amantia’s are red/dark brown with white veils for example: https://ultimate-mushroom.com/poisonous/102-amanita-regalis.html

@bright_helpings febreeze actually ran entire ad campaigns attempting to train people to do exactly that in the 90’s/early 2000’s—guess this means it worked, even if they couldn’t get her brand loyalty in the process haha

@maya @aarroz that one continued for an extremely long time in a lot of places! its was an extremely easy and effective source of ammonia (a useful cleaning and bleaching solvent) prior to modern chemical processing (aka like, the 1900’s)

I’ve also used tooot (yes 3 o’s) in the past which is free as well — i stopper bc of a timeline bug i think? but it was a while ago so v well may have been fixed by now
