Folks, it’s encouraging to see more of you writing alternative text on images here so people who use screen readers can also take part but please make sure the text really is the equivalent of the image.
So, for example, if you’re posting a screenshot of some text, don’t just say “Excerpt of article” or “A tweet by so-and-so” but actually copy/paste the text from it (many platforms let you do this with images these days).
Folks who use screen readers have the right to hear what we see.

@glitchontwitch there are a few instances that have changed hands — eg I think .art did a several years back? and wandering.shop is currently in the process of shifting mod teams
generally this has to be done very slowly and with lots of warning not necessarily for technical reasons (though there are some of those too) but because the communities involved need time to find out about the transfer, potentially raise concerns with the old admin team, decide whether or not they trust the new team, and then possibly move instances if they don’t. And even then there are unresolved ethical questions about how to handle inactive accounts, who aren’t around consent to the transfer of their data

@Betty not ADHD but in a similar situation where doing large sets often doesn’t work for me!
greasing the groove is the fitness people term for doing single reps or very short sets (less than five) many times throughout the day rather than doing one long workout — an example would be installing a pullup bar and doing a rep every time you walk through that doorway or doing a couple squats every time you get up from your computer, whatever you think can comfortably work into your routine
@anna i don’t have any experience with amtrak on this one so pure speculation there, but my general experience is that bikes are expected to share space with wheelchairs and strollers. & a wheelchair accommodation request is (hopefully) higher on the priority list than the other two
