@coriander that’s pretty average; i consider anything above like 7.5k to be long and anything below like 4k to be short
it depends on typesetting of course but 500 words / page is a useful benchmark, so 5k words is about 10 pages
50k is what nanowrimo considers a “novel” fwiw, although modern novels can easily be twice that

@Lady Yeah that's the other thing is I read so much genre fiction that anything shorter than like 450 pages is a "short" book and you don't hit "long" until you start pushing into 800+ so a 50k word novel is just not really within my realm of experience =P
