@Lady my local library’s interface is p janky for browsing actually imo
@Lady generally if i dont know what i’m looking for i’ll just wander the stacks & rely on serendipity (this works better for non-fiction)

@Lady public, uni uses worldcat which has decent subject search for most purposes

@Satsuma it makes sense but i feel bad for your librarians and the lack of funding i feel like this implies
@Lady i’m really not sure what their funding situation is tbh, there are indications pointing in both directions so I suspect it’s uneven
@Satsuma i feel like i'm probably in a relatively privileged position as well in regards to being a part of a growing if small library development department actively pretty involved in things like Samvera
but like i think about my undergrad university's library too and i'm sure they didn't make it themselves but it was pretty good and functional
