my dad's side of the family played a specific ruleset for Rook that ive never seen elsewhere which is pretty cool

@wallhackio We had a deck for Rook at one point but I have no idea what happened to it

@coriander according to wikipedia rook decks caught on in christian communities because traditional card decks were associated with gambling

which should tell you plenty about my dads side of the family

@wallhackio Yeah I think my dad just wanted to have a deck around In Case

To my memory we never played it

@coriander there are tons of different games you can play with rook. the closest to a canonical game is "Kentucky Derby" but ive never played it, just the specific game my family plays

@wallhackio @coriander honestly to me the more telling aspect of his side of the family is that the unique version of rook they play is punishing as hell

@AsterMeadows @wallhackio rook, like the bird. they made a card game about it because some puritans really wanted to play card games but the usual cards are the devil because gambling so they made their own deck lmao

@wallhackio FUCK U FUCK U ALL IVE EVER DONE FOR LIL GAMES IS FIVE FINGER FILLET LIARS DICE BLACKJACK AND GOING ALL IN ON POKER ALL THE TIME!!!!!!

@AsterMeadows pfft. i bet this guy has never even played backgammon

@wallhackio i have a ruleset fur it on my website somewhere but i don’t know if i have a purrmalink to it from anywhere lol
