when I was 10 or 11 i got a kitten who i named Mayhem, May for short. i'm nearly 33 now so she's an old gal and lives with my dad still. he couldn't find her the other day and was convinced she had gone off somewhere to quietly pass away -- but he called the local shelter just to be sure. surprise! she'd managed to escape the fenced yard and a neighbor went "oh fuck, living skeleton" and turned her in. the shelter was so impressed with her age and general health that they let him take her back for free
