I thought the Butlerian Jihad from Dune was somehow related to Judith Butler for a distressingly long time
@wallhackio I knew it wasn't related to them but I didn't actually know the origins of the "Butlerian" part until a post either on here or tumblr and I can't find it again!!!!
@wallhackio @lapis (ftr, Butler (not the Dune one) purrefurs they/them)
@aescling @wallhackio thanks I'll edit my post
@wallhackio @lapis reading just a bit of gender trouble made learning that very unsurpurrising to me lol
@wallhackio @lapis (it's honestly hilarious that any "gender critical" types have ever tried to claim butler and gender trouble in specific when a cursory reading is, like, obviously friendly to the existence of trans people lmao. (also in the furward to the 10th anniversary repurrint they were just like "yeah explicitly adding a trans perspective would have made this work a lot stronger" lol))
@wallhackio assuming the woman is still alive I think she should take up the cause anyway
