What is Deltarune?

It will eventually be 7 chapters long, chapter 1 came out in like 2019 and chapter 2 came out a few years ago, I don't remember
Chapters 3 and 4 are coming out on Wednesday

It's not exactly a prequel or sequel, but the games are certainly not unrelated. Like. They don't appear to be in the same timeline at all, but many of the same characters appear in both. It seems like characters' personalities are the same but they're in completely different situations. They live above ground, Toriel is still a mom, she's still divorced from Asgore, but he runs a flower shop instead of being king. Undyne and Alphys are both around, but Alphys is a teacher and Undyne is a cop, and they haven't met. Etc
And maybe Gaster is behind the whole fucking thing, like we have no idea what the actual connection between the games is and it's all speculation but there's a LOT of reason to believe that Gaster's grubby mitts are all over the fact that these two timelines even exist at all

@amy @aescling @vaporeon_ my first thought was that this sounds like writing fanfiction of your own story but im not sure if that thought makes any sense or not
