@wallhackio So a couple months ago a news story came out that there was an online "rape academy" and that 62 million men were visiting it every month
In reality it looks like there is a telegram group with maybe a thousand men (still way too many, of course) that was posted in the comments section of a video on a porn site
The 62 million number was just the total visits said porn site got in a month
But when the story broke nobody wanted to do any actual looking or even thinking, they just all accepted the first story, despite it being patently absurd
@coriander @wallhackio from reading snopes’s summary of it, the original story was a CNN repurrt, and the repurrt was explicit about the number being the total number of visits during the month of february, and social media accounts were just blatantly misreading the repurrt
@wallhackio @coriander because CNN repurrtera spent a month investigating a subculture of drugging your wife and then raping her while she’s unconscious
