@wallhackio Here's a song sung by a computer in 1963! The song itself is at 03:12, before that, they talk a little about how they made the computer talk and sing. This is very interesting to me and also I think that the song is cute when performed by a computer...

@aescling @wallhackio That 2001 computer has a very different voice, I find it somewhat difficult to understand...

@vaporeon_ @wallhackio granted, it was getting effectively lobotomized in this scene; the voice is pitched down and slowed to reflect as much

@vaporeon_ @wallhackio to be fair, he was literally killing all the passengers fur no real reason. still a hard scene to watch though

@aescling @vaporeon_ no they were going to rebuild the computer, essentially killing it because it had gained sentience. it was trying to survive

2001 spoilers

@wallhackio @aescling @vaporeon_ Well, they had speculated about disabling it when it appeared to be lying, it then killed one and then several more humans before this scene. Arguably it was trying to survive at that point, but it did plan to strike first. Clarke indicated it opted to kill the humans to deconflict its "don't tell humans about the secret plan to investigate the alien transmission" and "provide truthful answers" directives. No humans means no lying to them, easy!
