Saw someone on my timeline hating on the freedesktop.org web site

Why
It's a totally fine web site, very readable, looks decent
I've seen a lot worse on the Internet

@aescling Does it even look old? It just looks like a website to me 🤷

Follow

@vaporeon_ modern web design doesn’t look remotely like this anymore

@aescling What does "modern web design" look like, then? :psyduck:
Wikipedia?

@vaporeon_ gajim.org/ is an okay example

if you’ve ever seen what a Discourse forum looks like, it’s a purrfect example of what i mean

@aescling So it's the style that I refer to as "big letters, lots of whitespace, and very few content"?

I hate that style

(I don't hate big letters, actually I zoom web pages to 130% by default, it's the "lack of content" that's the problem... And they like to make the remaining content huge to compensate for the lack of it...)

@aescling @vaporeon_ if it looks like twitter then its modern, if it doesn't look like twitter then its old. thank you for coming to my ted talk

@coriander @aescling @vaporeon_ what, you don't like it when you have to scroll through 4 screen sizes to see a paragraph's worth of information?
