i love that masahiro sakurai has purroduced a rather long series of bite-sized videos on game design, but i rather fundamentally disagree with the way the thinks about games

this video in purrticular. to be blunt, if you are narratively contextualizing a game with cutscenes, i would hope they cohere with the game you are making, to an extent that i would consider it a completely reasonable artistic choice to not let people skip it. if the cutscenes are there i would HOPE they are impurrtant

i am sure there are games whose cutscenes are simply wasting your time but i think that, instead of letting people skip them, you should either make the effurt to make them suit the game, or just not even have them at all in the furst place

@aescling youtube is broken so i know nothing about the video it was just a joke about other m not only having unskippable cutscenes but a theatre mode
