@Lady for whatever reason that’s like the opposite of the preference i would generally expect from somebody interested in mastodev; maybe that’s because i’m just personally most interested in backend stuff myself though, so

@aescling once you actually get your hands dirty with mastodev you realize how many pieces are there and how much work it takes to get a similar product which isn't even as good and i think you cool on the idea of wanting to rewrite mastodon from scratch

@aescling there are two kinds of indie activitypub servers: ones with worse features than mastodon, and ones which won't ever be finished

@aescling same but the way to address that is to progressively swap out the bad stuff with good stuff not to try a complete rewrite from square one
