Can someone familiar with @gotosocial tell me how to turn on rss feeds? Idk if I’m missing a setting in the config or what…

Spring light and mossy boulders — the kind you see everywhere here in southern Sweden, but which never cease to enchant me — for #Mosstodon.

@Rozzychan i find it incredibly funny that KimChay is the least problematic couple bc in any other show there would be SO much drama about them 😆

@Lotl_Love this list is a great start! a few more fediquette tips:

- “are boosts ok?” is a very normal question on fedi — don’t be afraid to ask if you’re not sure!
- public posts go to the public timelines (local and federated) & show up in hashtags while unlisted posts do not. This seems like a small difference but it has a lot of potential uses! eg. for long threads many people set their first post to public and the rest to unlisted, esp if they’re on a smaller instance where the local tl runs slowly. or if you want to write a post reccomending people use the hashtag, setting that post to unlisted will keep it from clogging the tag with posts that aren’t *actual* introductions (also, if you haven’t already, use the introduction tag!)
- check peoples profiles & pinned posts before following, some people have boundaries set in there for follows that you should respect. its v normal for newcomers, esp during big migration waves like this, to want to follow as many people as possible to build their social networks. that is a good impulse! but it shouldn’t get in the way of respecting people who are just trying to quietly live their lives on fedi

@ljwrites @Mayana @WanderingBeekeeper there are definitely accounts like @/lunastation@wandering.shop on the shop who post to the local timeline & are far more brandy than O Westin? Also worth noting that the instance has changed ownership since 2017, tho Luna predates that transfer

@quirkystreets i access mastodon about 50/50 through the website and through an iOS app (tooot) — hashtags seem to work the same for me either way

@gaylonparsons@mastodon.social is from a much larger server, which usually doesn’t matter but can things like hashtags, so i would expect that is why they’ve gotten different results

@quirkystreets not just people you follow — hashtags should include any public post which your instance knows about that includes the tag

does it count as a major character death if no one is upset about it?

@jonny its worth additionally noting that many admins don’t even have database access (eg. anyone who uses masto.host)

@jonny DM’s can only be accessed two ways:
- through the report interface, if one has been reported (which you shouldn’t reveal for obvious reasons)
- directly through the database

there’s no admin interface for accessing DM’s

Okay.

If I offered SaaS managed Mastodon, similar to masto.host and others

Is this a thing you'd be interested in?

A gentle reminder to folks who are new to Mastodon. In solidarity with those in the disabled community who rely on screen readers, we ask that you:

* Add alt text/image descriptions when you post media
* Capitalize the first letter of every word in a hashtag #LikeThis
* Avoid emojis in your display name

UPDATE: So many great questions! Please check the replies to see if your question has been asked and answered ❤️
