@twistylittlepassages only one i’ve read so far is Women, Race, and Class which I found largely insightful — the last chapter was pretty weak and there’s a few dated bits but the broader argument is p solid

if you want to make up some of your own ways in the meanwhile, try going through and pretending you can’t use each limb one at a time and figuring out the most comfortable way to get from lying down to standing

@SocialGaff a very different context, but one of the things my mother does is fall recovery training for seniors, where the central adage is basically ‘the more different ways you can get up off the ground the safer you are’
she’ll be amused to hear the same advice holds true for handstands!
