@vaporeon_ olive oil onion carrot celery base, garlic plus tomato paste plus whatever spices I feel like at the moment, black bouillon chicken broth, yukon potatoes, 1/8-1/4 head of cabbage, mustard greens, illegal quantity of salt and black pepper

@wallhackio What are Yukon potatoes? Isn't that place too cold to grow potatoes there?

@vaporeon_ they're yellow and sold as "Yukon gold" potatoes in the states, I don't know what they are

potato info dump

@wallhackio @vaporeon_ so fun fact: yukon gold potatoes were a cultivar developed in the states specifically to emulate the yellow-skinned potatoes found in europe. before that the most common were red potatoes and the thick-skinned russet potatoes.

on that note, i lived in denmark for a few months and never saw any potato like a russet potato there. only the thin-skinned variety

re: potato info dump

@holly @wallhackio So in the United States, the average potato is not yellow? You have to buy a special cultivar ("Yukon Gold") to get yellow potatoes like I'm used to? :O

re: potato info dump

@holly @wallhackio @vaporeon_ i dont think we have a standard potato tbh, you just gotta specify the kind you want (the broad devision is starchy / baking potatoes which are usually called russets or Idahos vs waxy / boiling potatoes which is what a yukon gold is but also the purple skinned ones, or stuff like new potatoes & fingerlings usually )
