what do you think this is achieving for you
@Lady i like dialogue in porn comics.
@alyssa do you mean you like porn comics which also contain plot and characterization or do you mean that dialogue in the middle of sex is important to you
@Lady both. the latter is mostly because it’s hard for me to read comics without regular dialog. i’m a very textual person. but also dialog can convey the mood of the participants and it can be more enjoyable to read if they’re having a fun time with it.
@alyssa mm i think i have complex opinions regarding the structure and explicitness of sex scenes in porn comics but as a general rule i tend to find dialogue distracting, at least partially because i think it is hard to convey tone and subtle emotions through speechbubbles, so it just reads as overly blunt to me
this is a bit ironic because i do wish there was more talking in video porn, and i rely on it in written porn as well (although i also think a lot of porn writers are bad at this)
it might be that my problem isn't dialogue per se so much as BAD dialogue and i have high standards
@Lady that’s fair. my preference for it is definitely heavily influenced by my personal cognitive idiosyncrasies. for comparison i think at absolute minimum 1/3rd of most pages should be speech bubble in action comics.
@Lady As in, the “ooh yes” stuff that seems to contribute nothing? My personal theory is moaning kink.
oh i figured out my actual complaint
it’s people who write porn comics as though they are porn storyboards and not, you know, comics
