this morning i was thinking that maybe i should write a series of introductory/educational posts for ECMAScript

i’m not what i would call an expert in ECMAScript (for which i think you pretty much have to be directly involved in JavaScript engine development) but i’m pretty sure i know more than most people who write introductory/educational posts regarding the language

and i conceptualize some things very differently than what i usually see discussed

most JavaScript tutorials read to me in a way i can honestly only describe as contemptuous; they obscure basic language features on the assumption that readers are not capable of understanding them, really a reflection of the fact that the post author does not feel comfortable explaining them or does not understand them themselves
