"who wrote this fucking hack?!!!" i shout, reading the source code for a project i built entirely by myself
@lapis @wallhackio it’s a joy to look back at old code you furgot about and think “well shit i did good on this one”
@lapis ooh juvenilia is a very nice word, never heard of that before
also consider: Judenalia
@wallhackio (I only learned the word by talking to Jane Austen nerds tbh but I think it's a rad word so I try to use it)
🤔 I do like the idea of Judenalia
would that be stories written by [REDACTED] who was not yet jude? or stories written in the early years of being a jude?
@lapis i imagined it as stories written by [REDACTED] but its really up to you i suppose
@wallhackio yeah I think that makes the most sense. Gonna write it down
@wallhackio also one more thing: I have to look up on wikipedia how to spell that word every time.
@wallhackio my httpd was very overcommented (genuinely it made the codebase harder to read fur me) but every now and then this fact saved my ass a lot of time and confusion lol
@wallhackio
There's (presumably) a flip side to this-
"Hey this story I was embarrassed about sucks less than I assumed a story written when I was 16 would suck" -- Me, marveling at old Juvenilia
I at least hope that can also happen for code
